Wish my kid's school have lockers
Today is the last day of mt kid's school exam. I dont know how he's doing as he cannot relate to me. He only answers, "ok…" to each and every question i ask him, lol. I really hope this time, his results are OK compared to the two previous terms!! The only thing i love about school exam is he dont have to carry lots of text books with him each day. As he studies in a chinese school, he needs to carry two separate bags with him each day. One for his text books and endless activity books, the other for his exercise books. If i were to place all his text books, activity books and exercise books in one single school bag, it'll be far too heavy for his small frame, believe you me.Each day, i see many school children all hunched over with their heavy bags on their shoulders. I've observed that most of them do not have their schoolbags close to their back. It's hanging down their waist putting a big strain on their back bone. This is not good in the long run. I adjust my kid's schoolbag's shoulder strap twice a week to ensure that it's close to his body once i place it onto his shoulders. I just wish his school can have a locker for each student to place their school books in. School lockers are a necessity these days and i hope the school's PIBG can come up with a solution to address this problem. Well, there are lockers for sale everywhere these days. I believe it's every parent's wish to see their kids going to school with lighter school bag. You too, right.

My niece is getting married this October. It's normal for Chinese to buy gold jewelry as wedding gifts. But then, my niece is only 23 this year. Moreover, young girls seldom wear gold jewelry. I had to replenish my kids' milk supply yesterday. So, after dropping Gordon off for tuition, i took Malcolm grocery shopping at Tesco. He wanted to drink the new Dumex Dugro Strawberry Flavored Milk. As i was walking from aisle to aisle, i came across the section where Enfagrow A= is placed. OMG…. it costs Rm94.99 a tin!!! That's more than double the price of what my kids are drinking. I was standing there thinking, "drink gold meh…", lol. I'm so thankful i breastfed both my boys. I saved a lot of milk powder money. New routine
I got tired to going back home after dropping my kid off at school. Instead, i bring my laptop along with me when i leave the house, and blog at the food center behind the tong sui stalls opposite the school. It's not entirely that bad if you ignore the noise and the drinkers there. But then, as i save me some time and fuel, i'm going make this my daily practice till i get sick of this routine, lol. Just now, a friend dropped by the food center as he wants me to help him find out where he can buy gold coins online. He wants to buy them as his parents' 50th wedding anniversary gift. Knitted golf club covers
I'm now toying with the idea of designing knitted golf club covers for sale. I knitted one for a good friend last year and received quite a good response. A few friends have asked me if i can knit some golf club covers for them or not. I told them i can but they have to wait quite a long time. I dont have much time on hand to knit these days. Well, let's see how things go. Gotta put on my thinking cap. 
Why i'm using AIO Diapers
Right after my previous post, a good friend sent me a message on MSN and asked me why my 4 year old is still wearing AIO Diapers. Well, for one, he can still fit in them though he's already 4. He's small for his age lah, ok. Another thing is, since he doesnt pee in his sleep every night, i dont think it's justifiable to waste an unsoiled disposable diaper that's been worn overnight. I dont reuse disposable diapers also. Disposables are far too costly in the long run. I only use them when i'm traveling or when he's down with diarrhea. And also when i'm sick and has no energy left for washing nappies each morning.And since i have one AIO diaper which was a gift when Malcolm was born, it'll suffice. The only thing is that i have to wash it every morning. If he pees, i have to rinse it a few times. if not, a light rinsing will do. I dont use the terry insert that came with the AIO as i find it too thick and leaves a smell no matter how many times i wash it and hand it out in the hot sun to dry. Moreover, it also takes a zillion hours to dry properly. I only use two cloth diapers folded into a long rectangle to fit the AIO and that's it. Dries in a jiffy too, even when it rains. So now that you know, happy??? :p 
AIO Diapers
I can be such a klutz at times. Just now, i went to soak and rinse out the wee-wee from my toddler's AIO diapers, then went and set up the washing machine as i can then dump it into the wash. This way, i dont have to hang it out in the sun to dry them. After that, i drove my kid for his tuition class. Shortly after i got home, i heard the washing machine beep. Happy that my laundry is done, i went and hanging the washed clothes only to find my AIO diapers missing. They were still in the pail, inside the bathroom, niamah…… 
I love neighborhood stalls
MIL bought wantan meen for us this morning but did not inform me. On the way home after dropping my big kid off for tuition, i drove the younger one to the same wantan stall as he wanted to eat that for breakfast. Lucky for me the stall owner told me that MIL bought for us already. If not, how am going to eat so many packets, utelmi. Dont you think neighborhood stalls are much friendlier and not [Link]

New work place
I did not head back home to work on my blogs today. Instead, i tried working from the food center as i brought along my laptop. It's cooling here and for the 1 buck i paid for my chrysanthemum tea, i get to save on fuel, time and household resources. Hubby told me to work here many times before. The only thing i dont like about this place is that it has far too many loud drinkers.I think i'm going to do this from today onwards. It's defintely better than having to drive all the way home, then drive all the way back here, then go home and blah, blah, blah and blah, lol. Home is sure more comfortable, but then, nothing much gets done due to lack of time. Moreover, i do get distracted by other things around the house. Let's see how this new routine goes, If all goes well, i hope to see my income improves again. I'm once again at the lowest point of my life and hating it. Watudu….. sigh. Time to work that brain and fingers again. No point whining…………

Exam preparation - Nama Binatang
This is how i test Gordon with animal names. As he's done a lot of reading in class, i just want to make sure he can spell them all correctly. I'll copy the drawing from his exercise book and let him write down the word on his favorite magnetic drawing board. I dont do this all in one sitting. He's been busy at the pc since evening. I test him with one word every 15 minutes or so, alternating with a synonym. He does make a mistake every now and then. Just have to be very patient and help him learn. One word at a time, even if it takes hours or days. Exam is on Thursday. 
Exam preparation - Bm Sinonim & Nama Binatang
There are altogether 10 synonyms and 10 animal names for Gordon to memorize. For this coming exam, he has to write the answer down as he wont be able to choose from a list.

Have you got a favorite tune or song that you'll hum or sing when you put your kids to bed? I do. Of all the bedtime tunes i've hummed over the years, Edelweis seems to be "the song" that sends them off to slumberland fastest. I fell in love with this song the very first time i heard Captain Von Trapp sang it in The Sound Of Music. Christopher Plummer was so handsome in that movie, dont you think so? Ah, i'm getting sleepy too. Hope Gordon sleeps through the night and pray he wont vomit on the bed tonight. 
Buy tire-pressure gauge online
Today is the first day of yet another round of subsidy cuts for essential goods. I got to know about it around 8pm, so didnt bother to go refill my petrol tank. Moreover, the nearest Caltex is about 3km away from my house. The savings wont mean a thing if i were to drive all the way there and back again just so to refill it at 5 cents lesser.To me, i'd rather practice good driving habits each day. So far, my Alza's average fuel consumption has dropped further down to 11.7l/100km. At Rm1.85, it's still doing 21.64 cents per km. Very high for a 1.5l mini mpv. Well, it's still new and i've only driven 3000km plus with it since early April. I should see it dropping further after its second service. I'm now getting around 355km per full tank. My friend's Alza has a reading of 547km with a full tank. Didnt ask what's her average fuel reading is. Each time i go fill up my tank, i will make sure my car's tires are inflated to the proper pressure with the help of a tire-pressure gauge. I bought my tire-pressure gauge from Parkson's car accessories department. So, if you're looking for a tire-pressure gauge, why not check out Accutire MS-4021B? Dont be surprised this small little gadget can save you a lot on fuel in the long run, and also lengthen the lifespan of your car tires. I still have ten more days to prepare Gordon for his school final exam. I wish he can do better than the two previous ones. This time, i put in extra effort so that he can score marks for the easy questions like those that requires filling in the blanks and matching up words with pictures. I know with more practice, my boy can do it. He's quite artistic and i'll be sending him back for art classes after the exams. I have a friend who sent her kid to an art school since young to develop his creative talent. She told me she's very interested in arts and fashion and would like to go to a cosmetology school one day. I found that Jacksonville Cosmetology School offers courses for the beauty industry. Last night, both kids had fun learning the names of various animals and the sounds they make in Bahasa Malaysia. By morning, Gordon is quite familiar with each strip. Next step now is to cut each strip into two separate words and let him match them up correctly. He still gets one or two wrong every now and then. Nothing to worry as i'm confident he'll know them all by exam time.

Once i get Gordon to recognize and read every single word, i'll cut each strip into half and let him match each animal to its sound. I'll play this with him every now and then till he gets it right. Exam = game time!

Broken branches, leaves and tree trunks all over the roads. The thunderstorm was furious and windy. Fortunately, lasted only a short while, and no damages to the surroundings. Had to stop MIL from going out to pick up the toppled flower pots. Cant her slipping on the yet ground. Everything can wait. And yes, my car is clean, lol!

I have many friends living in apartments in the city. Price of landed properties are just far too high for them to buy. When i was still living in KL, i also stayed in a one-room apartment together with hubby. The thing about staying in an apartment is the lack of outdoor space available to us.
